
Cinta Sanz-Ibáñez

Cinta Sanz-Ibáñez holds a PhD in Tourism Geography and is a lecturer at the Faculty of Tourism and Geography of Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), where she is also a member of the Research Group on Territorial Analysis and Tourism Studies (GRATET). Her expertise lies in sustainable tourism destination planning and development, with a particular interest in applying these perspectives to food and wine tourism destinations. She integrates these areas across her research, teaching and knowledge-transfer activities. She has been involved in international food and wine tourism initiatives that bridge academic knowledge and tourism practice, developed in collaboration with universities and industry stakeholders in France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Argentina. These include the European ENOTOUR project, which focuses on supporting digitalisation and sustainability in the wine tourism sector. Since 2015, she has been part of the coordinating team of the international Erasmus Mundus Master WINTOUR (Wine Tourism Transitions and Innovations), recognised by the European Commission as an example of good practice in higher education. Her teaching also includes the development and delivery of specialised learning materials and modules on tourism experience design, with a focus on translating research-based knowledge into approaches and tools that help current and future tourism professionals respond to the evolving challenges of the sector.
